Start the game and wait at the first connection screen until it returns a message. If it says it cannot connect to Battleborn servers, local router changes will not bring matches or story missions back because the original online service was shut down.
Test the console connection
On PS4, go to Settings > Network > Test Internet Connection. On Xbox One, go to Settings > General > Network settings > Test network connection, then restart the console from the Power menu if the test fails.
Repair the Steam install
In Steam, open Library, right-click the game, then choose Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. Let Steam replace missing files, and start it again from Library instead of an old desktop shortcut.
