Astra Security is a website security service for teams that scan sites for malware and manage a web firewall from a dashboard. When it goes down, admins lose those controls and cleanup stalls.

Login and dashboard loads tend to fail first, so you may reach the sign-in page and get an error or a blank panel instead of your site list. Scans you start can sit in a queued state, and firewall rule changes or malware cleanup actions may not apply even though the dashboard accepts the click. Reports and alerts can lag behind, which leaves you checking a stale view while a site issue continues. Problems are often partial: one module, such as the firewall or scanner, can fail while other parts of the account still load, and the same symptom can hit one region and not another.

My visitors keep hitting a block page from the firewall. Has Astra gone down?

Probably not. The firewall runs inside your own site, so a block page means it made a decision about that request, while a real outage would leave the page unreachable instead. Open the blocked requests log in the dashboard and look at the rule that matched, along with the IP or user agent behind it. If blocks jumped after a plugin update or an allowlist change, undo that change first.

My pentest scan has been sitting in the queue for hours. What is going on?

Scans wait on capacity, and a queued one often clears without help. If it sits past the window the dashboard quoted, start a fresh scan rather than waiting on the old one. Check that your target answers from outside your network, because a site behind a login wall or a staging password will stall the scan. The dashboard shows which stage the scan reached, so look there before you blame the service.

The WordPress plugin says it cannot connect to the Astra dashboard. How do I fix it?

That message usually means your site cannot reach the Astra API, not that the whole service is offline. Ask your host or a second security plugin whether outbound requests are being blocked, and compare the site URL in the dashboard with the one the plugin reports. Regenerating the connection key and pasting it back into the plugin clears the mismatch in most cases.

I paid for pentest credits but my dashboard balance still shows zero.

Payments post to the account that made the purchase, so an empty balance often means you are signed in under a different email than the one used at checkout. Give the billing page a few minutes and refresh it, since card checks sometimes hold a payment briefly. If the charge is on your statement and the credits never appear, send the receipt to support so they can trace it.
