How to fix Webtoon not working

Webtoon is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

  1. Close and reopen the app

    Swipe the app away in your recent apps view, then open it again. That clears a reader stuck on a loading spinner, and it fixes a home feed that will not refresh.

  2. Switch from Wi-Fi to data

    Turn off Wi-Fi and pull up an episode over cellular data. If it loads, your network is the problem. If it hangs the same way, the fault sits with the app or the service.

  3. Update the app

    Open Google Play or the App Store, find the app, and install any pending update. An old build often fails to load images once the service changes how it serves them. Restart the phone if the reader still hangs.

  4. Reinstall it, then contact support

    Delete the app, then install a fresh copy from your store. On Android, Settings > Apps > Webtoon > Storage > Clear cache is worth a try first. If only you are having trouble, the help centre at https://help.webtoons.com takes bug reports.

Is Webtoon down right now?
The status at the top of this page shows whether reports about problems are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. It does not ping anything or test from your side. If the level looks normal, the trouble is probably local: force-close the app, open the site in a browser, and see whether the same episode fails on mobile data instead of Wi-Fi. Another device settles it fast.

What do I do when an episode won't load or stops partway through?
Bad cached art is the usual cause, so clear the app cache or reinstall it and try the episode again. One series failing while others open points to that title's files, and everything failing points to your connection. Try another device. Saved downloads go stale as well, so delete them and grab them again over Wi-Fi.

I paid for Coins but they never arrived. Where did they go?
In-app Coins go through Apple or Google, so the receipt lives with your store account. Give it a few minutes, restart the app while signed in to the account you bought with, and check the store's purchase history. If the money left and the Coins never showed, send that receipt to the help centre; the store handles refunds, while support can trace the transaction.

Why can't I post a comment or see anybody else's comments?
Comments load from a different service than episodes do, so a chapter can read fine while the thread underneath it spins or comes back empty. Wait a while and try again. If the reply box won't submit, sign out and back in, because a stale session blocks posting. Your account can also be muted, and the app tells you when that is why.

Why is my Library or reading history out of sync between my phone and the website?
You may be signed in to two different accounts, which happens fast if you used a social login on one device and an email address on another. Check the profile name on both. Open an episode, finish it, then refresh the other device to see whether progress moves across. A stale session holds the old library too, so sign out completely and back in before deciding anything is lost.
