How to fix NFL Network not working

  1. Check the TV provider login

    Open the app, go to Settings or Account, sign out, then sign back in with the TV provider credentials. If the provider page loops, close the app and sign in through the provider site in a browser before returning to the app.

  2. Restart the NFL app

    Force close the app, then reopen it; on iPhone, open the app switcher and swipe the app card away, and on Android, open Recents and swipe the card away. If the screen stays black or stuck on a spinner, restart the device and launch the app again.

  3. Switch networks and try another device

    Turn off Wi-Fi in Control Center or Quick Settings and retry over cellular; if a short video plays, restart the router and try your original connection again. Sign in on a second device with the same account; if that device works, the problem sits with the first device.

  4. Clear the NFL app cache

    On Android, open Settings > Apps > NFL > Storage & cache > Clear cache, then use Clear storage if the error remains; on iPhone, delete the app and reinstall it from the App Store. Sign back in after a reinstall or a storage clear, since both drop the login.

What happens when NFL Network goes down

NFL Network is the league's cable and satellite channel, carrying live game broadcasts and studio shows that football fans watch through pay TV or the NFL app. An outage interrupts the live feed, the studio coverage around it, the sign-in screen, and the stream itself.

A live game feed is usually the first thing to fail: the picture freezes or the stream drops to a black screen before the studio shows even load. Is NFL Network down right now?

Those figures come from what other viewers report, and nothing here pings the channel or tests it from anywhere. If the level looks ordinary, the fault is probably on your side: restart the app or set-top box, sign out and back in, then load the same stream on your phone over mobile data. When the phone plays fine, your home network or your TV provider is the thing to look at.

The NFL app wants my TV provider login for NFL Network and mine isn't on the list. What can I do?
Streams of the channel inside the app are tied to a pay TV sign-in, and the picker only carries providers that have a carriage deal, so a smaller cable company or a streaming bundle can be missing. Open the provider list on the sign-in screen before you assume the app is broken; if yours is absent, ask that provider whether it carries the channel at all. Watching on a device already signed in to your TV account sometimes gets you past the picker.

I keep getting 'This video is not available in your region' on live games but the shows play fine.
That message points at broadcast rights, not a server fault: live game windows get restricted or blacked out depending on where you are and which games your local stations carry. Note whether it appears on every live event or just one, since a single game can be blocked while the rest of the schedule plays. Recorded studio shows and highlights usually load without trouble, which confirms the account and connection are fine. Nothing on this page can lift a regional restriction.

The app accepts my password and then drops me back at the login screen. How do I break the loop?
A sign-in that bounces back usually means the app is holding a stale token, so force quit it, clear its cache or data, and sign in once more. If that fails, reset the password on the account page and use the new one on the device, because saved credentials from an older password can fail silently. Reinstalling the app clears it in most cases; on a TV stick, delete the app and add it again rather than just logging out.

Live games buffer or freeze on my Fire TV while the same channel works on cable.
Buffering on one device with a clean picture elsewhere points to that device's connection or its app build rather than the channel itself. Check the Wi-Fi signal at the stick or box, and if the picture stutters only during high-traffic games, wired ethernet or a move to the 5 GHz band often settles it. Clearing the app cache and updating it helps when the freeze comes with a spinner and no sound. Compare against a phone on the same network to see whether the trouble is the device or the whole connection.
