How to fix Smart Draw not working

Smart Draw is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach smartdraw.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

Reload the SmartDraw tab
Hard reload the tab with Ctrl+F5 on Windows or Command+Shift+R in Chrome on Mac. If the loading spinner stalls or the sign-in screen loops, sign out from the account menu and sign back in. Leave the tab open until the canvas and shape library finish loading.
Test SmartDraw in private mode
Open a private or incognito window and sign in to the service. A clean profile skips cached files and most extensions. If the page loads there, turn off extensions that block scripts or change pages, or clear site data for the service in your browser settings.
Open SmartDraw in another browser
Open the service in a current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari window. If the drawing loads, update your everyday browser. Review the everyday browser's extensions; a second browser separates a browser problem from an account or file problem.
Reinstall the SmartDraw desktop app
Quit SmartDraw from Task Manager, then uninstall it through Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps so the old program files are gone. Restart the PC. Download the current installer from the service site and reinstall; setup replaces the program files and leaves your documents alone.

What happens when Smart Draw goes down

Smart Draw is a diagramming app for flowcharts, org charts, floor plans, and other business visuals. Teams use it to build and export those documents; an outage interrupts saved work and the handoff of finished diagrams.

Sign-in trouble shows first. You may get stuck at the login screen, or you can sign in but find templates and symbol libraries slow to load or a save that never finishes. Export to PDF or image files can fail while a diagram still opens. Problems are often partial, with one region or one account type hitting errors while other people open and edit diagrams; the report level above comes from user problem reports, not a direct check of the service.

Is Smart Draw down right now?

Why does Smart Draw say my license is not valid when I open the desktop app?

A license check can fail when the app is signed in with a different email than the one used for the purchase, or when a firewall blocks the check. Sign out and sign back in with the receipt email, then restart the app. If the desktop app keeps opening in a read-only state, use the web app while you sort out the account; that separates a license problem from a drawing file problem.

Why is my Smart Draw file blank when I open it from the cloud?

A blank cloud file usually means the app opened before the drawing finished syncing, or that your browser is serving an old cached copy. Open the same file in a private window on another device; if it appears there, clear the cache in the first browser. Save a local copy once the drawing shows, because repeated blank opens can turn into lost edits if you keep working over the empty view.

Why does Smart Draw freeze when I open a large org chart?

Large org charts with many linked boxes can stall the app while it redraws the page, especially in a browser tab with other heavy sites open. Close extra tabs and open the chart at a smaller zoom level. If you have the desktop app, try that version instead. If it still freezes, save a copy before editing because a crash mid-change can cost you the last edit.

Why does Smart Draw ask me to pay again when my subscription is active?

The app may be signed in with a different email than the one on your receipt, so it cannot see the paid subscription. Sign out and sign back in with the receipt email, then reopen the app; if the prompt remains, check that the renewal payment cleared in the account that holds the subscription. A failed renewal can drop you to limited access even though the old receipt still shows a past payment.
