Troubleshooting

How to fix DKB not working

DKB is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach dkb.de over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

  1. Retry DKB login by hand

Open the app and use the app PIN instead of Face ID or fingerprint sign in. If web banking sends you back to the sign in screen, type your Anmeldename or Legitimations-ID and Passwort by hand, since a saved browser entry can hold an old value.

  2. Allow DKB approval alerts

For web banking, leave the browser tab open and open the DKB app or TAN2go if no push message appears. On iPhone, go to Settings, Notifications, DKB or TAN2go and turn on Allow Notifications; on Android, go to Settings, Apps, DKB or TAN2go, Notifications and turn notifications on.

  3. Update the DKB app

On iPhone, open App Store, tap your profile picture, pull down to refresh, and tap Update next to DKB or TAN2go if you see it. On Android, open Play Store, tap your profile picture, Manage apps & device, Updates available, and update DKB or TAN2go if you see either app.

  4. Clear dkb.de site data

Use this if the website loops after login or shows a blank page. In Chrome on desktop, open Settings, Privacy and security, Third-party cookies, See all site data and permissions, search for dkb.de, and delete its stored data; in Safari on iPhone, go to Settings, Safari, Advanced, Website Data, search for dkb.de, tap Edit, and delete that entry.

While DKB is down: what to use instead

  • DKB website If the app will not load, try dkb.de in a browser for balances, transfers, and card settings.
  • DKB app If the website stalls after login, the app may still open your accounts or approve a banking action.
  • Physical card or cash If online banking is stuck, a card payment may still work, and cash helps when you cannot wait.
  • Another bank account If a payment is urgent and you have a second account, send it from that bank instead.
About

What happens when DKB goes down

DKB is a German direct bank at dkb.de with current accounts, cards, loans, and brokerage for private customers. When it has trouble, people in Germany may lose access to balances, transfers, card settings, and the banking app at the worst moment.

Login and the banking app often show the pain first, with endless loading, failed biometric sign-in, or a generic error after you enter your details. Transfers can stall when the approval prompt does not arrive, while account balances or card transactions may stay blank even after the page reloads. Card payments and cash withdrawals can be separate from online banking, so they may still work while the app is unusable. Problems with DKB are often partial by feature or platform rather than a clean total outage, with web banking, the app, brokerage, and card controls affected in different ways.

Questions

DKB FAQ

Is DKB down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether user reports for DKB are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. It is based only on reports sent to a public outage-reporting service. To check your side, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, try the website and the app, and see whether login fails on only one device.

Why does the DKB app reject my login even when the password is correct?

A correct password can still fail if the app cannot finish the approval step or if the device clock is off. Update the app, restart the phone, then sign in through dkb.de to see if web banking accepts the same details. If web banking works but the app loops back to the login screen, remove saved biometric login and set it up again after a normal password login.

Why can I see my Girokonto balance, but card payments or transfers will not go through?

Balance display can load while payment approval still needs a live connection to the bank. Try a SEPA transfer later, and check whether card payments fail in stores and online or only in one merchant app. If every payment stops, use the DKB help centre: https://www.dkb.de/kontakt/index.html.

The approval in TAN2go or the banking app does not appear. What can I try?

Open the approval app yourself instead of waiting for the push message; notifications can arrive late or stay hidden on the lock screen. Check that the phone has internet access and that battery saving mode is not blocking background activity. If you changed phones, you may need to set up the approval method again before transfers work.

Why does dkb.de load, but online banking shows a blank page or keeps spinning?

That often points to the browser session or stale cookies. Use a private window or another browser, then clear site data for dkb.de if the login page works there. If the app fails at the same time, the problem may be with the service rather than your browser.

How we track DKB

The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for DKB, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for DKB, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.

When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. DKB doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
