How to fix Hearthstone not working

Restart Hearthstone
Quit the game from its own menu, then restart the launcher from the system tray so the process starts fresh. On mobile, swipe the app away from the app switcher before you relaunch it. That often clears it.
Check Hearthstone's region
Open the launcher and look at the region selector under Hearthstone's name. Choose the region where your collection lives, then press Play after any pending update finishes. A wrong region can leave you stuck at the login screen.
Scan and repair Hearthstone
In the launcher, open the gear menu beside Play and choose Scan and Repair. That can take a while. Wait for the launcher to report it is done before you launch the game.
Clear Hearthstone's mobile cache
On Android, clear the app cache from Settings > Apps > Hearthstone > Storage. Reopen the game. If that fails, or you play on iOS, reinstall the app after you confirm your account is linked.

What happens when Hearthstone goes down

Hearthstone is Blizzard's digital collectible card game on PC, Mac, iOS, and Android; players rely on it for ranked ladder, Arena, Battlegrounds, and Tavern Brawl matches. An outage interrupts login and matchmaking, so a queued match can stall or you can get cut off from your collection and the shop.

Login trouble can show first as a stuck connection screen or a failed sign-in, and matchmaking may hang or drop you back to the main menu before a game starts. If you get into a match, lag and disconnects can hit during play, while the shop or collection may fail to load even when the client opens; Battlegrounds and Arena queues can sit without a match. Problems can be partial, since one platform or region can show a spike in user reports while another plays normally; the status at the top shows whether those reports are above their usual level by counting them in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours, and it does not test the game itself.

Is Hearthstone down right now?

Why does Hearthstone say it cannot connect to the service on my phone?

That message means the app lost its connection to Blizzard's servers or your phone changed networks mid-game. Force close the app, then reopen it on mobile data after you turn off Wi-Fi for a moment; if the message clears, your home network or router is the probable cause. A VPN or a locked-down school network can also block the connection, so turn those off and try again.

My Hearthstone shop purchase failed but I got charged. What should I do?

Check the payment receipt from your app store or card issuer before you buy again, because a completed charge often means the bundle or card pack is pending delivery rather than lost. Restart the app, then sign out and back in to refresh the shop; if the item still does not appear, contact Blizzard support with the receipt and your Blizzard account email. Do not repurchase the same item while the first charge is unresolved.

Why does Hearthstone disconnect me during Battlegrounds matches on PC?

Battlegrounds matches can run long, and a dropped connection can look like a freeze if the Blizzard desktop app is updating or your PC is on weak Wi-Fi. Check the desktop app for a pending update and use a wired connection if you can. If the disconnect hits only during combat or when a new round starts, server load is probably the cause.

Can I play Hearthstone on the same account across regions?

Region progress is separate. Your Blizzard account has Hearthstone collections that do not carry across regions, and switching regions does not merge collections or purchases. Pick the region in the game client before you log in. If a friend cannot see you online, confirm you both selected the same region first.
