Troubleshooting

How to fix Caisse d'allocations familiales not working

Caisse d'allocations familiales is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach caf.fr over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

  1. Reload Caf Mon Compte

Close every caf.fr tab, then open https://www.caf.fr and select Mon Compte. On most PCs, press Ctrl+F5; on a Mac, press Command+Shift+R. If the page was showing an old login form or a blank benefits page, sign in again after the hard reload.

  2. Clear caf.fr cookies

In Chrome on a computer, open chrome://settings/siteData, search for caf.fr, then click the trash icon next to the site. Go back through Mon Compte and enter your numéro de sécurité sociale and password again. This removes a stuck session cookie without deleting files from your device.

  3. Update Caf - Mon Compte

On iPhone, open App Store, search for Caf - Mon Compte, and tap Update if it appears. On Android, open Play Store, search for Caf - Mon Compte, and tap Update if it appears. If the app still freezes on the logo screen, uninstall it and install it again from the same store.

  4. Reset the Caf password

Open https://www.caf.fr, select Mon Compte, then choose Mot de passe oublié ? on the sign-in screen. Follow the identity check shown there, then sign in with the new password on the website and in the app. If the account still rejects valid details, pause before retrying so you do not add more failed attempts.

While Caisse d'allocations familiales is down: what to use instead

  • Caf.fr in a browser If the mobile app stalls, try the website from another browser or a private window, especially for documents and account checks.
  • Caf Mon Compte app If the website will not load, the official app may still let you view payments, messages, and attestations.
  • CAF phone service When a deadline or payment question cannot wait, call your local fund so an adviser can note the request.
  • CAF office or appointment For urgent paperwork, a local reception point can help with identity checks or document drop-off while online forms are stuck.
About

What happens when Caisse d'allocations familiales goes down

Caisse d'allocations familiales is France's public family benefits service for households that receive or apply for aid through caf.fr. An outage can block benefit claims, account messages, document uploads, and payment checks.

Login tends to fail first, with the Mon Compte area sending you back to sign-in or loading a blank account page. The Caf Mon Compte app may open but fail to show payments, certificates, or message replies. Longer incidents can stop online forms, simulations, and document uploads, so a request may look unfinished even after you submit it. Problems are often partial, because public pages can still load while account services or a local fund's pages are slow.

Questions

Caisse d'allocations familiales FAQ

Is Caisse d'allocations familiales down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether user problem reports are above their usual level, using 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. It comes from reports sent to a public outage-reporting service, not from a live test of caf.fr. To check your side, open Mon Compte in a private window or another browser, then try the app on mobile data if the website fails on Wi-Fi. If only one device or network has trouble, clear the browser cache and turn off any VPN.

Why can’t I sign in to Mon Compte on caf.fr?

Mon Compte can refuse a sign-in when the password is wrong, FranceConnect has a fault, the session cookie is stuck, or the account is blocked for too many attempts. Check that you are using the same sign-in method as usual, then reset the password if needed. If the page loops back to the login screen, delete cookies for caf.fr or use another browser.

Why does the Caf Mon Compte app stay on the loading screen?

Force close the app and reopen it after checking that your phone has a working connection. If the same screen comes back, update the app or sign in through caf.fr while waiting. Reinstalling can help when the saved session is broken, but keep your login details nearby because the app may ask again.

Why are my payments or rights not showing in Mon Compte?

The payments and rights sections depend on your account data after sign-in, so they can load blank while public pages still open. Sign out, sign back in, then check Mes paiements and Mes droits. If a declaration for RSA or prime d’activité is expected, the amount may stay unclear until the file is handled.

Why can’t I download an attestation or send a document on caf.fr?

Attestations and document uploads sit inside the signed-in area, so an expired session can make the button do nothing or send you back to login. Sign out, open a fresh browser tab, and try the action again from Mon Compte. For uploads, use a common file type such as PDF or image, and rename the file if it has special characters.

How we track Caisse d'allocations familiales

The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Caisse d'allocations familiales, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Caisse d'allocations familiales, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.

When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Caisse d'allocations familiales doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
