Reload and restart
Reload the page (Ctrl+F5, or Cmd+Shift+R on a Mac), or fully close the app and open it again.
Try another connection
Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. If it works on one and not the other, the problem is your network, not Availity.
Update the app
Install the latest version from the App Store or Google Play. Old versions can stop connecting after a server-side change.
While Availity is down: what to use instead
- Health plan provider portal Use the health plan's own provider portal for eligibility and prior authorization if the plan offers one; it gives you a payer-specific path when the main portal stalls.
- Provider services line Call the health plan's provider services line for claim status or eligibility when a web session times out and you need a person.
- Waystar Waystar is a backup only if your practice already has an account there; it can keep claims moving when the portal will not load.
- Practice management direct connection Your practice management system's direct payer connection can handle claims and remittance if it is already set up; it is a second path without a browser.

How we track Availity
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Availity, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Availity, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
