How to fix Klarna not working

Klarna is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Recheck declined Klarna pay later attempt
Check Payments for status. You clear soft declines when you toggle Wi-Fi off in Settings > Wi-Fi and place the order again in the app with your bank card.
Update the Klarna app build
Open App Store or Play Store to update. You stop login loops and blank Pay in 4 screens when you tap Update on the Klarna listing and reopen the app to load the new build.
Clear Klarna cache on Android
Go to Settings for a fix. You remove stuck verification screens and ghost balances when you open Settings > Apps > Klarna > Storage > Clear Cache and sign back in to the app.
Delete and reinstall for one-time card errors
Start fresh with reinstall. You fix dead one-time cards and failed bank links when you go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Klarna > Delete App and sign in fresh to link your bank again.

What happens when Klarna goes down

Klarna splits shop payments. If you check out with pay in 4 or pay in 30 days, an outage stops you from finishing purchase or opening your repayment plan.

Why was my Pay in 4 purchase declined at checkout?

You did nothing wrong. The service declines Pay in 4 when the store limit or a failed ID check trips its risk rules, even if your bank balance looks fine. You can lower the total and clear any past-due amount before you try checkout again.

How do I stop the app from freezing on verification or logging me out?

Force-close the app and install any pending update, since old builds stall on the ID and bank verification screens. Then try login again. You get kicked out when your session expires or your phone blocks camera and SMS codes, so allow those permissions before you sign back in.

What should I do when I can't create a one-time card?

If the one-time card button spins or vanishes at checkout, your card slot closed because the purchase amount or store category falls outside approval. Try a smaller total. You can delete the old expired card in the app and generate a fresh one, which clears most stuck screens.

Where is my refund when the app still shows I owe money?

Give the ledger a day to catch up after you pay, because refunds post first with the store before they show as paid in the app. Check the Purchases tab. You should match the store receipt to the app timeline, then ask the help centre if amounts still clash.
