Is ArcGIS down right now? Live status and outage tracker

No, ArcGIS is up.

No widespread outage detected. 1 user report in the last hour is within the normal range.

User reports, last 24 hours

9 reports in total, counted in 15-minute windows

In the last hour, 1 problem report came in for ArcGIS, and at this time of day there are usually almost none. Over the last 24 hours there were 9 reports. Most recent reports were about server connection (100%). There has been no spike in reports since 27 October. These are user reports from the US, where most people report ArcGIS problems.

In the past 24 hours, 9 user reports came in for ArcGIS. Counting only the 15-minute windows with a spike big enough to count as an outage, that comes to 100.00% uptime for the day. The busiest 15-minute window had 2 reports, about 23 hours ago. That stays below our outage threshold, so it doesn't count as downtime.

Where ArcGIS problem reports come from

The map shows where recent problem reports for ArcGIS came from in the US. Big cities always send the most, so dots in many places point to a widespread problem, and one area far ahead of the rest can mean a regional one.

  • Outage now
  • Problems now
  • Normal
Each dot is a group of recent reports, coloured by how its country is doing now; bigger dots, more reports.

A spike is a sharp rise in problem reports from users, kept exactly as this page showed it at the time. This history starts on 27 October 2026. Monthly reports for all services

Troubleshooting

How to fix ArcGIS not working

ArcGIS is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach arcgis.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

  1. Restart ArcGIS Pro

Close it. Reopen the app and the project; a frozen ribbon or a map that will not draw often clears after a full restart. If the sign-in window appears, sign in with the same account and give the project time to load.

  2. Check your ArcGIS portal and account

A stale portal or wrong account can block maps and layers. Open Project > Portals and set the portal you expect as active; then sign out and sign back in with the same account that owns the project.

  3. Clear the ArcGIS Pro display cache

A corrupt display cache can leave tiles blank or make the map view redraw with gaps. Open Project > Options > Display, click Clear cache, then restart the app and reopen the project.

  4. Repair ArcGIS Pro

If the app crashes at launch or menus stay missing after a restart, repair the install from Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps, choose ArcGIS Pro, then select Modify and Repair. Keep your project files closed during the repair, then open the project again.

While ArcGIS is down: what to use instead

  • QGIS Open local shapefiles, GeoJSON, or GeoTIFFs in QGIS when you need to view or edit data without signing in to a hosted service.
  • Google Earth Use Google Earth to inspect imagery, terrain, and placemarks when you only need a quick visual check, not editing.
  • OpenStreetMap Check OpenStreetMap for street-level map data and points of interest when you need a second map source for comparison.
  • ArcGIS Pro offline Work in ArcGIS Pro with maps and data already cached on your machine if your project does not need live hosted layers.
About

What happens when ArcGIS goes down

ArcGIS is Esri's mapping and spatial analysis platform, used in desktop apps and field tools by GIS analysts, city planners, utilities, and field crews. An outage interrupts map access, layer editing, field data collection, and analysis, so work stalls from the office to the field.

The status at the top counts problem reports in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours; the site does not ping or monitor ArcGIS itself. Sign-in problems usually hit first; web maps open with blank basemaps or layers that fail to draw, and ArcGIS Pro projects may hang when you refresh a hosted feature service. Field crews see edits refuse to sync and Survey123 forms fail to submit, which can be partial by account or region and often affects only some layers or apps rather than everything at once.

Questions

ArcGIS FAQ

Is ArcGIS down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether user problem reports for the service are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. The site does not ping or probe the service itself, so that status is a report signal, not a live check. Local tests matter. Try another network and another browser or device; if the same sign-in or map load failure follows you there, the issue is likely local to your account or machine.

Why does ArcGIS Pro keep signing me out?

The desktop app ties the license check to your organization account and the system clock; a wrong clock or a blocked sign-in request can drop the session. Sign out, close it, check the clock, then sign in again on the same network.

Why do I get 'You do not have permissions to access this resource' in ArcGIS Online?

That message means the item or layer is not shared with your account, or your organization role blocks the action. Ask the item owner to check sharing and your admin to confirm your role; a private window can rule out a stale login.

Why does ArcGIS Field Maps show a blank map in an offline area?

A blank offline map can mean the area download stopped before it finished or the map scale hides the layers you need. Reopen the offline area and check free storage; after you have a connection, sync the area again. If the map stays blank, remove the area and download it again.

Why does ArcGIS Survey123 fail to submit a survey and then lose my answers?

Survey123 can hold a submission when the token expires or the connection drops, and a failed send can leave the draft in the outbox. Open the outbox and check the draft; sign in again and retry the send when the signal is stable. If the draft is gone, contact your organization admin before you clear the app data.

How we track ArcGIS

The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for ArcGIS, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for ArcGIS, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.

When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. ArcGIS doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
