Powerschool outages and problems
In the past 24 hours, 12 user reports came in for Powerschool. Counting only the 15-minute windows with a spike big enough to count as an outage, that comes to 100.00% uptime for the day.
The busiest 15-minute window had 2 reports, about 19 hours ago. That stays below our outage threshold, so it doesn't count as downtime.

How to fix Powerschool not working
Powerschool is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach powerschool.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Rule out a stale browser session
Open the portal in a private or incognito window and sign in again. If that works, clear cookies and site data for the portal in your normal browser, because an old session can make the login page reject a good password. On iPhone, Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data lets you remove entries for the portal.
Check the district code in the app
In the PowerSchool app, confirm the district code matches the one your school gave you, then type your username and password by hand. Autofill can keep sending an old password, so remove the saved login for the app and enter it again. If the app still fails, reinstall it from the App Store or Google Play and add your district again.
Reset the portal password
Use the Forgot Password? link on your district's portal login page, if your district has it, and follow the reset email or text. If no link appears, ask the school office to reset the password because the account belongs to the district. After the reset, sign in on the web portal first, then try the app with the same username and new password.
Ask the school to check your account
Call or visit the school office and ask them to check your enrollment status and the school year tied to your account. Give the staff the exact error text, plus the device and browser you used. Ask them to check the account from the PowerSchool admin side and confirm it is active.
While Powerschool is down: what to use instead
- School office phone Call the front office for attendance fixes or schedule questions when the app will not sign in.
- Teacher email Email the teacher for the assignment sheet or due date if the gradebook will not load.
- Browser version Open the site in a browser on a computer when the mobile app stalls at sign-in.
- Google Classroom Check Google Classroom if your teacher posts handouts and deadlines there and the assignment list is unavailable.
What happens when Powerschool goes down
PowerSchool is the student information system many K-12 schools use for grades, attendance, schedules, and report cards, and parents, students, teachers, and office staff all depend on it. An outage can cut off the web portal and mobile app when you need grades, attendance, schedules, or report cards.
The status above shows when problem reports for the service are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours; it does not come from a live check. Login often fails first. The sign-in page spins, the mobile app bounces you back to the login screen, the page times out, or your password gets rejected even when it is correct; after that, grades and attendance may load stale or blank, teachers can lose the gradebook, parents may see an empty assignment list, and report cards can stall. Problems are often partial, with one district or school locked out while another works, and the same account may load on the web but fail in the app.

How we track Powerschool
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Powerschool, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Powerschool, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Powerschool doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
