How to fix ING DiBa not working
ING DiBa is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach ing-diba.de over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Switch the ING connection
Turn off VPN first: iPhone: Settings > General > VPN & Device Management > VPN; Android: Settings > Network & internet > VPN. Then try ing-diba.de or Banking to go once on Wi-Fi and once on mobile data, because a local DNS server, VPN exit, or captive Wi-Fi page can block a bank login.
Restart Banking to go
Close the app from the app switcher, then reopen it and sign in again. On Android, you can also use Settings > Apps > Banking to go > Force stop; on iPhone, swipe up from the bottom and swipe the app away.
Fix Banking to go approvals
If web banking waits for an approval, notifications must reach the phone that is registered for the account. iPhone: Settings > Notifications > Banking to go > Allow Notifications. Android: Settings > Apps > Banking to go > Notifications, then allow notifications for the app.
Update or reinstall Banking to go
Update first: App Store > profile picture, or Google Play Store > profile icon > Manage apps & device > Updates available. If it still crashes before the login screen, delete and install the app again, but do this only when you have the ING login details and can set up app approval on the device again.
While ING DiBa is down: what to use instead
- ING Banking to go app If the website login fails, try the app for balance checks, transfers, card settings, and approval prompts.
- ing-diba.de in a browser If the app freezes or will not update, the browser login can still work for checking accounts and sending a transfer.
- Card or cash If only online banking is down, your Visa card or girocard may still work for shop payments and cash withdrawals.
- PayPal or another bank account For a payment that cannot wait, use PayPal or a second German bank account if you already have one set up.
What happens when ING DiBa goes down
ING DiBa is the German ING direct bank for private customers, with current accounts, savings, loans, and securities accounts through its website and Banking to go app. When it has trouble, people can lose access to balances, transfers, card controls, or approval prompts they need for everyday banking.
App sign-in and web banking login are usually the first places customers notice a fault, especially if the screen hangs after entering access data or the approval prompt never arrives. Transfers can fail before confirmation, standing order changes may not save, and account balances can show stale data while payment card use still works. Some incidents hit one channel more than the other, so the app may be broken while browser banking still loads, or the reverse. Reports often look partial rather than nationwide, with some customers in Germany locked out while others can still check accounts or approve payments.

How we track ING DiBa
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for ING DiBa, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for ING DiBa, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. ING DiBa doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
