How to fix Anthem not working

Don't reinstall or reset anything
Anthem fails because EA's servers are switched off, not because of your PC or console. Reinstalling the game, verifying its files or resetting your network won't make it connect.
Free up the space it uses
The game can't be played on any platform now, so you can uninstall it from the EA app, Steam, PlayStation or Xbox without losing anything you could still use.

What happens when Anthem goes down
Anthem was BioWare's online-only action role-playing game, published by Electronic Arts in 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Players flew Javelin exosuits through missions that ran on EA's servers, so even solo play needed a connection. EA shut those servers down on 12 January 2026, and Anthem can no longer be played.
Since the shutdown there is nothing left to go down: the game can't reach its servers, so it stops before you can play, whatever this page shows. Ahead of the shutdown, EA took Anthem out of EA Play on 15 August 2025 and stopped selling its premium currency.
