YouTube: "Something went wrong. Refresh or try again later."

A page or video did not load

Part of YouTube failed to load. YouTube says an ad blocker, an old browser or app, stale cache and cookies, or changed DNS settings can all cause it.

Is YouTube down right now? Partial outage: 246 problem reports in the last hour. Many people are having trouble, so this error may come from YouTube's side: waiting can be enough.
Fix it

How to fix "Something went wrong. Refresh or try again later."

  1. Refresh the page.

  2. Sign in to YouTube.

  3. Update your browser or the YouTube app to the latest version.

  4. Turn off ad blockers for YouTube.

  5. Clear your browser cache and cookies.

  6. Check that no app has changed your DNS settings, then restart your device.
