YouTube ad blocker warning

YouTube detected an ad blocking extension

YouTube shows this warning when it finds an ad blocker in your browser. Blocking ads breaks its Terms of Service, and if you keep using one YouTube may stop videos from playing.

Is YouTube down right now? Partial outage: 246 problem reports in the last hour. Many people are having trouble, so this problem may come from YouTube's side: waiting can be enough.
Fix it

How to fix it

  1. Click your ad blocker's icon in the browser toolbar.

  2. Turn it off for youtube.com or add YouTube to its allowlist.

  3. Repeat this for every ad blocker you have installed.

  4. Reload the YouTube page.

  5. If the warning shows up with no ad blocker running, click Report issue in the bottom left corner of the message.
