User reports, last 24 hours

39 reports in total, counted in 15-minute windows

No problem reports came in for Frogfoot in the last hour, and at this time of day there are usually almost none. Over the last 24 hours there were 39 reports. There has been no spike in reports since 3 November. These are user reports from South Africa, where most people report Frogfoot problems.

In the past 24 hours, 39 user reports came in for Frogfoot. Counting only the 15-minute windows with a spike big enough to count as an outage, that comes to 100.00% uptime for the day. The busiest 15-minute window had 7 reports, about 8 hours ago. That stays below our outage threshold, so it doesn't count as downtime.

Troubleshooting

How to fix Frogfoot not working

Frogfoot is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach frogfootfibre.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

  1. Check the Frogfoot ONT lights

Look at the fibre ONT before you change router settings. Power should be on, and the PON or fibre light should be stable; if LOS is red or flashing, keep the ONT powered and report a fibre line fault to your ISP.

  2. Restart the fibre gear in order

Switch off the router and the Frogfoot ONT at the wall. Wait 30 seconds, turn on the ONT first, wait for the fibre light to settle, then turn on the router.

  3. Test with an Ethernet cable

Plug a laptop into the router with Ethernet so Wi-Fi is out of the way. On Windows, open Command Prompt and run `ipconfig /all` and `ping 1.1.1.1`; on macOS, open Terminal and run `ifconfig` and `ping -c 4 1.1.1.1`.

  4. Check DNS before logging a fault

If `ping 1.1.1.1` works but websites still fail, test DNS. On Windows 11 go to Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi or Ethernet > DNS server assignment > Edit, or on macOS go to System Settings > Network > Wi-Fi or Ethernet > Details > DNS, then try `1.1.1.1` and `8.8.8.8`.

While Frogfoot is down: what to use instead

  • Vodacom mobile data Use your phone as a hotspot for email, banking, and messaging while the fibre line is down.
  • MTN mobile data Switch a laptop or TV to an MTN hotspot if you have signal at home, and pause big downloads so the bundle lasts.
  • Telkom LTE or 5G A SIM router can keep home devices online when the fibre ONT has no usable connection.
  • Your ISP support line Contact the provider that bills you, since Frogfoot runs the fibre network and the ISP can log the line fault.
About

What happens when Frogfoot goes down

Frogfoot is a South African fibre network operator that runs open-access fibre lines sold through retail ISPs. When it has an outage, internet access over that fibre can stop for work calls, card payments, streaming, and cloud services.

The first sign is simple: Wi-Fi still connects, but pages hang and video calls drop while the router shows no internet. On some lines the fibre ONT may show a loss or alarm light, which points to the fibre link rather than your phone or laptop. Because it is the network under many ISP packages, your ISP account page or support ticket may be where you first see the fault described. Problems can be partial or regional, so one suburb or complex can be affected while nearby fibre users stay online.

Questions

Frogfoot FAQ

Is Frogfoot down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether user problem reports are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Those reports come from a public outage-reporting service, and this site does not monitor Frogfoot or collect reports itself. To check your side, test another device, plug a computer into the router with Ethernet, look at the ONT lights, and ask your ISP if your fibre line is linked to an open fault.

Why is the LOS light red on my Frogfoot ONT?

A red LOS light usually points to a fibre signal problem between the ONT and the network, not a Wi-Fi password issue. Check that the thin fibre cable is not bent, pulled, or unplugged, but do not force it back into the ONT. If the red light stays on after a power cycle, log the fault with the ISP that bills you so they can send it to Frogfoot.

My router has Wi-Fi, but the internet is dead. What should I check first?

Wi-Fi can stay visible even when the fibre line or ISP session has dropped. Restart the ONT and router, then wait a few minutes for the PON or internet light to settle. If a cable test works no better than Wi-Fi, contact your ISP with the ONT light status and the time the connection failed.

Can I contact Frogfoot directly when my fibre line is down?

For most home fibre lines, your ISP owns the support relationship and must raise the fault with the fibre network operator. Send your ISP the ONT light colours, your suburb, and whether the fault began after a power cut or cable work nearby. That gives them enough detail to decide whether it is an account, router, or line fault.

Why does my address show covered, but my ISP says the Frogfoot order is not active?

Coverage means the area or building can be served, but an individual line still needs an order, installation, and activation through an ISP. Delays can happen if the address record is wrong, the ONT has not been linked, or the fibre drop has not been completed. Ask the ISP for the order status and make sure they have the exact unit number or erf details.

How we track Frogfoot

The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Frogfoot, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Frogfoot, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.

When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Frogfoot doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
