Stuck on RTC Connecting in voice

Discord cannot finish setting up your voice connection. Discord says this usually comes from something on your side, such as a firewall or a VPN, interfering with the connection.

Is Discord down right now? Operational: 15 problem reports in the last hour. If it were down for everyone, this error could come from there; right now it looks normal.

How to fix "RTC Connecting"

Restart your modem, router and computer.
Ask your internet provider whether there is an outage in your area.
Allowlist Discord in your firewall or antivirus, or turn it off briefly to test.
If you use a VPN, make sure it supports UDP; on a work or school network, ask the admin whether Discord is blocked.
Try another voice region (server admins: Voice Channel Settings > Overview > Region Override; you can also change it in private calls).
