JavaScript error when launching Discord

A JavaScript error message appears when you try to start the Discord app. Discord's fix is to wipe the app's local data folders and reinstall.

Is Discord down right now? Operational: 18 problem reports in the last hour. If it were down for everyone, this error could come from there; right now it looks normal.
Fix it

How to fix "JavaScript error"

  1. Press Windows key + R, type %appdata% and delete the Discord folder.

  2. Press Windows key + R again, type %LocalAppData% and delete the Discord folder there too.

  3. Reinstall Discord.

  4. If the error comes back, contact Discord support at dis.gd/contact.
