No sound in your stream

Your stream is running but viewers hear nothing because Discord could not capture audio from the app you are streaming. This happens when the sound-sharing permission was not granted.

Is Discord down right now? Operational: 15 problem reports in the last hour. If it were down for everyone, this error could come from there; right now it looks normal.
Fix it

How to fix error 1001

  1. When you start a stream, approve the system prompt for sound sharing by selecting Grant Access.

  2. Do not dismiss the prompt: without it the stream keeps going but viewers get no audio.

  3. If it keeps happening, contact Discord support at dis.gd/contact with the error code, your device, OS and Discord version.
