Brightspeed internet not working

Area outage, line fault or unpaid bill

Brightspeed says service usually stops because of a network outage in your area, a fault on the line or equipment at your address, a problem with your own router or cables, or an account suspended after a missed payment.

Is Brightspeed down right now? Partial outage: 49 problem reports in the last hour. Many people are having trouble, so this problem may come from Brightspeed's side: waiting can be enough.
Fix it

How to fix it

  1. Check the Brightspeed outage page to see if your area is affected.

  2. Make sure every power cord and cable is pushed fully into the modem and the wall.

  3. Reset your modem.

  4. If your modem needs a PPPoE username and password, or you use your own modem, follow Brightspeed's separate steps for that setup.

  5. Contact Brightspeed support if the service is still down.

From Brightspeed's help pages: brightspeed.com, in our words. Checked on 5 November 2026. If the steps do not help, Brightspeed's own support is the next stop.
