Common problems
-
Game crashes: Crashes and critical errors during play
- Means
- The game closes or shows a critical error, often after an update or in the middle of a battle. Wargaming asks players to check the game files with its WGCheck tool and send a crash report if it keeps happening.
- First step
- Download WGCheck from Wargaming support and start it. All steps
-
Can't connect to server: Connection errors, lag spikes and disconnects
- Means
- The client can't reach the server, or you get dropped and lag badly during a battle. Wargaming points to firewalls, antivirus and the home network as the usual causes.
- First step
- Check that your antivirus and firewall are not blocking the game. All steps
-
Stuck on loading screen: Battle loads but never starts, often due to mods
- Means
- Loading finishes but the battle never opens, or the client hangs on the loading screen. Wargaming lists outdated or damaged mods as a common cause.
- First step
- Open the Wargaming Game Center. All steps
-
Can't log in: Wrong login details or account region mismatch
- Means
- The game says the email or password is wrong, or won't let you in through Steam. Wargaming says this is often a typo, a region that doesn't match the account, or a Steam profile linked to a different account.
- First step
- Check that Caps Lock is off and type your email and password again. All steps
Error codes
-
Unable to connect to the update service: Game Center cannot download a patch
- Means
- Game Center can't reach the update server, so the game won't download or update. Wargaming treats it as a local connection, firewall or antivirus problem in most cases.
- First step
- Click Retry, then restart your router or modem. All steps
