Too many failed sign-in attempts

After several failed sign-ins, X blocks new attempts for a while, even with the right password. The lock usually clears by itself after about an hour.

Is X (Twitter) down right now? Operational: 49 problem reports in the last hour. If it were down for everyone, this problem could come from there; right now it looks normal.

Wait about an hour and do not keep requesting password resets.
Turn off third-party apps that use your account, such as X Pro.
Try signing in again at x.com/login.
If you forgot your password, request a new one from the login page.
