Hulu error 16

Account not valid in this region (iOS)

On an iPhone or iPad, Hulu's servers flagged your IP address as coming through an anonymous proxy or VPN. Hulu's content rights cover only the United States, so it blocks those connections.

Is Hulu down right now? Operational: 19 problem reports in the last hour. If it were down for everyone, this error could come from there; right now it looks normal.
Fix it

How to fix error 16

  1. In Settings > Wi-Fi, open the details of the connected network and set HTTP Proxy to Off.

  2. In Settings > General > Profiles, delete any configuration profiles listed there.

  3. Check for a transparent proxy by joining a different Wi-Fi network or switching to cellular data.

From Hulu's help pages: help.hulu.com, in our words. Checked on 5 November 2026. If the steps do not help, Hulu's own support is the next stop.
